The Subaru Impreza is quite a famous car, especially for all the people out there who are fans of its incredibly powerful engines and rally car street-racing style. It is one of those models that looks completely at home in some surreal Japanese drifting race, whilst simultaneously being the type of car that you could rive past on the street.

What really sets the Impreza apart from the crowd is the WRX STi model, a feat of engineering that gets turbo charged fan quivering at the knees. The 2.5 litre engine in this insurmountable vehicle powers it from 0-62 mph in 5.2 seconds, even more if it is tuned above and beyond its normal capabilities. It also looks through and through like a racing hatchback, and whilst many people won’t like the looks, racers will.

OK, so it is a little bit boy-racer for some, and it does have a bad reputation. But if the rumours are true and engine tuner Cosworth is going to be tuning up a Subaru Impreza WRX STi, then I think the resulting performance will be really significant in the world of rally racing.
